“If the state is strong enough to do something good for you, it can do something bad to you.”
I believe that this statement is true. The only way that the state can do something “good” for you is by the state taxing you, which takes away your hard earned money- not so good right? Taxation may be beneficial in some areas but if abused, which is often the case, it can lead to the unnecessary taxing of citizens like ourselves. This is where the well-known statement, “the love of money is the root of all evil” comes perfectly into play.
Any human being is capable of sinning or doing something bad, so what makes you think that the state won’t do anything bad? The state is just a group of somewhat ordinary human beings who are more or less fighting to achieve power higher up. Most politicians won’t let anything get in their way while at it- they will do whatever it takes to get that power, whether good or bad. This is why we must hold steadfast to our rights before the state manages to totally take them away from us. Now, wouldn’t that occurrence be brutally bad for us?
