Twelfth Century Renaissance

The Renaissance of the twelfth century held a classical literature revival, some history writing, translation of older works, and a re-interest of Roman law. The philosophers of that time had a great impact in the translation of many Greek and Arabic works into the common language of Latin. The old Roman way of law became of interest again as well. The monarchs wanted to rule over the whole world just like the previous Roman emperors, therefore they enforced and studied it greatly.
